Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced rider, we are confident that we have a horse and trail to suit you.

Rafter Six Ranch's guides, horses and outfitters are known for being well trained, reliable and eager to share their knowledge of the area.

Before all rides, you will be matched with a compatible horse and given a brief list of the "Laws of the Land".

Trail Rides, carriages and wagon are available in weather conditions above (negative) -10º C degrees! : )

*For a more comfortable riding experience, we recommend long pants, boots with a heel, and clothing suited to the various weather conditions. Closed toe shoes are a must. High impact helmets are also recommended for all riders and required for riders under the age of 18 years. Riders may bring their own helmet or rent one on site. Extra suggestions - Sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, bug spray, camera etc. Please make sure all items are secure on yourself.

Pony Rides

Take your little tyke on a pony ride. Lead the horse around while your little one gets to enjoy the views from on top a horse. Your youngster will be suited with a well mannered, calm horse.

Riding Lessons

Get a great introduction to the western horse with this informative session, then try your skills outside of the arena on a trail ride! Lessons available for beginner to intermediate riders. Please call our office for further information. 

One Hour Lesson ~ $65~$105



saddle upOne Hour and Two Hour Beginner Ride

Take a ride through the beautiful forest with varried terrain and breathtaking views. Perfect for a relaxing and calm trail riding experience. This trail is a walk and light trot - geared towards the least experienced rider. minimum age 6+
$75 for 1 hour or $105 for 2 hours

Intermediate Ride

For those that desire a bit more challenge and speed than the traditional trail ride, an hour and a half intermediate ride is sure to please! Experinced riders only! minimum age 12 yrs
$125 ~ 1.5 hours


Advanced Equestrian Ride

The Advanced Equestrian Ride is an advanced riders ride that can be customized to your particular request, such as a proposal ride, special family ride, photoshoot or simply a more exciting adventure ride, sure to get your heart pumping! Steeper hills, thicker bushes and more speed for those horsemen that need an adrenalin rush. MUST be a competent rider. Minimum age 14 yrs 
$145 ~ 1.5 hours

This 3.5 hour trip includes a packed snack to enjoy while on the trail. Minimum 4 people; ages 12+.

Full Day Ride

The 7 hour trail is a great way to experience the gorgeous country side with the best part of the west - The horse. You will ride out to the stunning "Barrier Lake" and enjoy a packed lunch while on the trail. Minimum 4 people; ages 14+

Enjoy your ride into the hign noon sun for a mid-day adventure or sunset with an early evening horseback ride and a stop along riverside of the Kananaskis River to cook your meal cowboy style over a campfire in the great outdoors! Great fun for everyone! An experience that shouldn't be missed! 3 hour duration

Carriage & Wagon Rides green wagon

See the countryside on a Wagon or mountain meadow Carriage! Wagon Rides are fun for the whole family and popular for larger groups! Laugh, Sing, and be Merry! Beautiful and romantic carriages are available for weddings or special celebrations. Perhaps it could be a great way to "pop the question" in a traditional Vis a Vis type carriage with the magnificent mountain scenery! Great for all ages!

Cowboy Challenge Clinics

Experience the Cowboy Challenge with 2014 Calgary Stampede Cowboy Up Challenge Champion Kateri Cowley and 2015 Cowboy Challenge Calgary Stampede Reserve Champion David Cowley!

Kateri & David will be teaching these clinics for those who wish to experience the kinship between horse and rider in the context of real life challenges that Cowboys often experience on the range working the ranch as well as some modern life obstacles to challenge them and their trust and bond. Cowboy College

Learn the ways of the cowboy! This interactive group activity will demonstrate and teach about things like anatomy of the horse and saddle, learn how to crack a real stock whip, rope with a lariat and much more! Your group will be on their way to earning their spurs!
