Cowley's Rafter Six Ranch is Conveniently Located 1/2 Way Between Banff & Calgary!

Only 30 minutes East of Banff, 15 minutes East of Canmore & 35 minutes West of Calgary and Cochrane.

From Banff & Canmore

Travel East on Highway #1 (Trans-Canada Hwy.) approximately 25 km from Canmore. Take the Rafter Six Ranch exit. (marked Exit #114) stay right through the yield sign and then turn left at the the "T" intersection "STOP" sign and follow Ranch Road East approx. 1 mile (1.6 Km) to Cowley's Rafter Six Ranch.

How To Get Here From Calgary?
Cowley's Rafter Six Ranch is Conveniently Located 1/2 Way Between Banff & Calgary!

Only 35 minutes West of Calgary and Cochrane, 30 minutes East of Banff & 15 minutes East of Canmore.

From Calgary

Travel West on Highway #1 (Trans-Canada Hwy.) towards Banff, approximately 67 km from Calgary city limits. Take the Rafter Six Ranch exit number 114A. (*Important* Take the exit that goes under then South over the overpass). The exit is clearly marked with a blue highway sign overhead. Turn left at the "T" intersection "STOP" sign and follow Ranch Road East approx. 1 mile (1.6 Km) to Cowley's Rafter Six Ranch.

NOTE: Please be sure to take exit 114A (which will take you under the overpass and then onto the overpass) and NOT exit 114.

Not, Not Necessarily, As We Do Welcome Drop-Ins!

However, A Reservation Guarantees Your Horseback Ride Activity, Date & Time.

As You May Well Be Aware, During Busy Times Like Weekends, Long Weekends and Summer Months...

Our Horses Are In High Demand At These Times and It Would Be Wise To Book Your Ride Date & Time In Advance That'll Guarantee Your Adventure.

What Should I Bring & Wear?
Well for starters You're Now in the Canadian Rockies and the weather is often unpredictable and you can experience All Four Seasons in about 15 minutes!

So best to always be prepared with a jacket or fleece coat, a hat and running shoes, or western boots if you have them.
Remember It's Always Easier To Take Your Jacket & Hat Off Than Put One On That You Don't Have.
What kind of Shoes Should I Wear?
Well Cowgirl Boots if You're a Perty Cowgirl and Cowboy Boots if you're a Handsome Cowboy!

Just Kidding! You don't have to wear Western Boots if you don't have them...
Most shoes with a Walking Heel are just fine, as are Sneakers and Hiking Boots are OK Too...
Open Toed Shoes, High Heels and Flip-Flops are Not Allowed...Sorry!

How Much Does It Cost To Camp?
The Campground Fee is $29 / per Night per Unit.
Do I Have To Register To Camp?
Yes, All Campers Must Check-In & Register At The Rafter Six Ranch Office.

If You Are Arriving Late after Regular Office Hours, Please Proceed To The Camping Area and Have A Good Night Rest.

Please Stop By The Ranch Office In The Morning and Our Staff Will Be Happy To Help You Register and Pay.

Please Check-Out At The Rafter Six Ranch Office When You Are Ready To Leave ~ Thank You & Happy Trails!
How Long Can I Camp?
You Can Camp With Us For A Maximum of 16 Nights, then you'll have to leave for 24 hrs before you can return to camp.
What Kind of Campsites Do We Have?
Cowley's Rafter Six Ranch is Unique in that We Offer a More Natural Wilderness kind of Camping Experience.

RV's, Trailers, Truck Campers & Tents Are All Welcome!

There Are No Designated Camping Sites Except For The Group Campsite.

We Allow You to Choose the Area Where You Would Like to Camp.

Just find a Picnic Table and Camp Right There!
Do We Have RV Utility Service Hookups?
No, We offer a More Natural Rustic & Wilderness Camping Experience.

There Are No Electrical, Water or Sewage Hookups.

However, If You Have An RV, Trailer, Truck Camper, You Most Likely Already Have All These Resources in Your Unit, Like Water, Power, and Washrooms.

Quiet Generators Are Allowed if You Have One.

Please Respect Your Neighbours...Quiet Time from 11pm ~ 7am applies.
Are Campfires Allowed & Do You Have Firepits?
Yes, Campfires Are Allowed In Authorized Metal Firepits Only.

We Have A Limited Number of Firepits for Rent. Cowboy Grill Firepit Rental is $25 per Night.
Cowboy Grill Firepits Are Great For Cooking As Well As A Campfire!

We Also Have Firewood For Sale For Your Convenience. $10 per Wood Bundle.

Local Fire Restrictions May Be In Effect & Apply. Check With Us Daily.

Be "Fire Smart".
1. No Bonfires.
2. Please Use The Firepit Screen Cover To Catch Sparks.
3. Never Leave Your Campfire Burning Unattended.
4. Be Certain Your Campfire Is Out By Pouring Water On It & Stir The Wet Coals.
5. In Case of Fire ~ Immediately Report It To Ranch Office & Staff.
Do We Have Washroom/Toilet Facilities?
Yes, We have several Portable Outhouses Available For Customer Use.

We Also Have One Handicapped Portable Outhouse Available For Customer Use.

Sorry ~ We Do Not Have Any Hand Washing or Washing Facilities With Potable Water For Customers.
Do We Have Shower Facilities For Campers?

Bow Valley Provincial Park Has Shower Facilities Available For A Fee. You Can Buy Tokens at the Bow Valley Campground Office/Store. Conveniently Located Just 1 Km North of Trans-Canada Highway #1 on Hwy 1X.

Adjacent To The Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino ~ Is The New "Bearspaw Kananaskis Travel Centre" Has A Full Service Fueling Station Truck Stop & Convenience Store With Shower Facilities For A Fee. It is Conveniently Located Just 4 Km's East of Us on The TransCanada Highway #1, Then Take Exit 118 South onto Highway #40 and Travel ½ Km & turn left. Open 24 hours a day, Seven Days A Week, Year Round.
Do We Have Potable Water For Campers?
